When I'm old I shall wear purple and big floppy hats to hide my gray hair between colorings. I shall slumber in my pajamas til noon and have tea and cake at 4 AM. I shall wear flowing silk caftans and long swoopy strands of pearls while vacuuming my living room carpet. I shall be spontaneous, gracious and awed with life.
When I'm old I shall start my own chapter of The Red Hat Society, name it The Jazzy Old Babes and shall make myself Queen of the chapter. I shall drink expensive wine from crystal goblets and celebrate the beauty of a summer sunset with a bowl of peach ice cream. I shall refuse to act my age except when it's convenient for me to do so.
When I'm old I shall call everyone younger than me "sweetie" just so I won't have to remember their names. I shall dance with wild abandon to music by Marvin Gaye, James Brown and The Beatles. I shall lie on the grass, watch the clouds go by while listening to the birds sing. I shall spend a day with a child so that I can rediscover innocence, passion and faith.
On the other hand...
When I'm old I shall not waste time having dinner with people I don't like when I can be spending it with those I adore. I shall not hide expressions of righteous indignation, wry disbelief or outright disgust. I shall not allow worry, doubt or negativity to over power gratitude. And I shall not forget to be thankful to God for allowing me all of these.

Thanks for your comments everyone. I have decided that since purple is my favorite I shall wear it now and I am doing some of the things on my list but will add a few at a time to help myself adjust.
And when you create Jazzy Old Babes, I'll join your society and drink expensive wine with you! :)
